THE IRAQ WAR – IS IT JUSTIFIED?

So US finally attacked Iraq.

As has been so appropriately reported – this is not a war against Terrorism. It is in-fact not a war against Islam too. It certainly is not the Phase – II of the war on Afghanistan. It is not what US Administrators would like us to believe.

This war is a war of revenge. It is the revenge of a Son - The President of the only Super Power of the world. It is a revenge of George Bush – the current American President – in response to the attempt made by Saddam Hussein to kill one of the America’s past Presidents. Incidentally this past president was father of George Bush!

This is a war for control of Oil reservoirs of Middle East. This is a war forced by America to gain supremacy in Middle East. This is a war to make people in Arab world understand – that Israel will prevail in their war against Palestine. This is a war forced by the private arms manufacturers over national or international interests. This is a war, which is very similar to Vietnam War where the money prevailed over logic. This war has got nothing to do with Saddam being a threat to the world. This war has got nothing to do with war on terrorism. This war is about catching or killing a man accused of plotting a Past President’s assassination. This is a war forced on American people and the world to hide the failures of the Bush administrations. (That the unemployment has been on a rise in US is known and well – what better way to get the attention away from the administrative mistakes.)

The answer to all American problems is always – WAR!

And friends perhaps the biggest reason of them all – The Americans will fight this war to hide their failure to grab Osama Bin Laden.

The Americans have always been trigger friendly and they will not learn till they are properly, thoroughly and comprehensively beaten in a war. They understand one language and the world community will have to teach them in the language they understand. These Americans have absolutely no knowledge of history. They should have known that all the so-called world rulers in the era gone by (The Romans and The British) have all fallen because of their arrogance and their policy of suppression or oppression. If we look back, these same Americans were at the forefront during the creation of United Nations. United Nations – which was meant to ensure that everyone lived in peace on this earth. It is such a shame to see the same country trying to destroy it! Shame indeed.

Look at the stated objectives of the past and the current wars involving America. Americans have always got a wrong target for a war. They chose to fight Russia in Vietnam War but ended up being humiliated by Vietnamese – Objective was not met (Irrespective of what RAMBO would have us believe). They chose to flush out and kill Melosovich in Kosovo war – they could only remove him from power but could not kill him – Objective not met. They helped Iraq in the Iraq – Iran war to remove the Muslim Fundamentalist leader Ayatollah Khoemeni – but ended up burning their own fingers - – Objective not met (They had to eventually deal with Saddam who became their Achilles Heel in the times to come). They helped Taliban to fight against Russia in Afghanistan. Taliban in turn helped Al-Quaeda to destroy the fabric of American sense of security – by destroying the WTC – Objective was met but the consequences were severe. They fought the Iraqi war in 1990s – to eliminate Saddam. They failed. Bush Sr. lost the elections – but Saddam continued in power – Objective not met! They vowed to destroy Al-Quaeda network and catch Osama Bin Laden in the war against Terrorism. They ended up killing innocent men and women of Afghanistan. Osama is still at large – Objective not met.  Since they could not catch Osama – they decided to pursue their Eveready target – IRAQ or more precisely Saddam Hussein. The result as we have seen in the analysis above is clear. The stated objective will never be fulfilled. I am left wondering who will be their next target after their next failure.

They are forcing the world to fight a war, which is definitely uncalled for.

And I wonder why there have been no outrage or demonstrations in our own country against the looming war? Is it because the party in power at the center also believes in the same psychology of diverting the attention away from domestic blunders using war threats? Or are we really against Saddam Hussein and Islam? Or are we really the pet of Americans?

I feel we as a nation have not matured. We as a nation have not matured to take world’s point of view into consideration. We don’t feel for the suffering of others. If America is attacking Iraq – so what – let them attack and die! Or better let them both die. Why should we bother? We don’t care what is happening to the damn world – well – at least not till it affects us. We create all kind of hue and cry when something hits us. But till then it is the WHO CARES attitude. And we aspire to become the world POWER by the end of 2005!!! We Indians do dream a lot. Huh.

Just watch out – now that the war has started – the oil prices per barrel will increase. This will amount to the increase in petrol and diesel prices. We Indians will now start giving dharnas and start burning Bush’s effigy and American flag. We are selfish and we will never rise beyond our limited abilities.

Common fellows – we have a responsibility in our hands. Let us show our support to the NO-WAR campaign. Don’t we belong to the global community? Or are we sick enough or scared enough to raise our voices against Axis powers? Don’t be as foolish as our national leaders – who are still looking for a CONCENSUS amongst all political parties to DISCUSS the impending war in the LOK SABHA. To even discuss (?) – isn’t it ridiculous? These leaders are proven scoundrels and have proved them selves to be the most gutless of all. Let us not look up to these thick-skinned leaders. Let us show them a way. If there is someone left in the Leaders fraternity who has clear conscience – he will listen and we may spark off a reaction from the government. We may force them to feel secure and powerful enough to raise their voice against the AXIS Powers. C’mon if countries like France can raise their voices – why can’t we? We are militarily more powerful than France. Let us show our mantle.

Let us all tell Bush that this earth is not his personal domain where he can force a war on people for his personal vendetta. Let us tell the Americans that they are the current leaders of the world community because we have ACCEPTED them to be one. Let us tell them not to test our patience since Patience has the notorious distinction of going away much faster than it takes a person to blink. The last thing they want us to do is TEST our patience.

So rise – and rise now!

Its Montoo..
